Ophthalmic diseases of paediatric age group constitute a significant proportion of total blindness and severe visual impairment. A knowledge of such diseases is essential for the general physicians, paediatricians and the ophthalmologists for preventing such conditions through genetic counselling and early treatment. This text book on paediatric ophthalmology through six sections discusses the epidemiological aspects and investigations and management of various types of ophthalmic disorders in the infants and children. Appropriate colour photographs illustrate common ocular lesions. A special section at the end of the book gives a concise list of conditions as differential diagnosis in common clinical manifestations like red eyes, a lump in the lid, proptosis, poor vision and headache etc.

The book is recommended as a reference book for general practitioners, paediatricians and ophthalmologists.
