This is a fully illustrated book which has been prepared by putting together the ideas of various groups of architects in Japan. The contents of the books have been divided into four sections based on the categories of medical facilities.
The first and longest section covers the general hospitals which highlights the requirement of fusion of the humane environment in hospitals with sophisticated technological advances. The sections on Mental hospitals and Rehabilitation Centres features future trends of combining open spaces with the functional element. The last section deals with clinics.
The entire book is explained by means of colour plates, site plans, floor plans and views of sections of buildings, with no text. Overall, it is an useful book for architects, hospital administrators and planners as it helps to give new dimensions in the designing of medical facilities.
