Abstract

The centrosymmetric title compound, [Cd(C₉H₉BrNO₂)₂], was obtained by the reaction of 5-bromosalicylaldehyde, 2-aminoethanol and cadmium nitrate in ethanol. The Cd atom, located on an inversion centre, is hexacoordinated by two Schiff base ligands in an octahedral coordination through the phenolate O atom, the imine N atom and the hydroxy O atoms.
