A 64-year-old otherwise healthy woman presents with a solitary, well-defined, slightly scaly, erythematous plaque on her lower back. The patient notes that the plaque has been slowly enlarging over the past year.

The most likely diagnosis is

  1. Psoriasis
  2. Bowen disease (squamous cell carcinoma in situ)
  3. Nummular eczema
  4. Extramammary Paget disease
  5. Superficial basal cell carcinoma
