There is psoriasiform hyperplasia of the epidermis with acanthosis and overlying hyperkeratosis and parakeratosis. There is a dense infiltrate of atypical lymphocytes in the upper dermis (A). The infiltrate of atypical lymphocytes is also present both at the dermal-epidermal junction and within the epidermis (B). The epidermotropic lymphocytes are medium to large with hyperchromatic and irregular nuclei, variably prominent nucleoli and minimal-to-abundant pale-staining or eosinophilic cytoplasm (C).
