Enhancing the Functionality of Core Labs with the SOLiD Sequencing System

The advent of high throughput sequencing systems has revolutionized the ways in which sequencing is used for Genetic Analysis applications. A wide range of gene expression, ChIP-Seq and Targeted Resequencing applications can now be executed with these systems and are revolutionizing our understanding of these fields. However, smaller sequencing core or microarray core labs have not yet fully embraced this new technology for a variety of reasons. An innovating development using ™ chemistry will demonstrate the latest Applied Biosystems' commitment to the sequencing and microarray community. The system offers a low cost, flexible, less ‘hands on’ time for sample handling, faster sample turn around time and fully integrated data analysis sequencing system that will enable even modest sized laboratories the ability to execute advanced transcriptome discovery and targeted resequencing applications quickly and inexpensively. We will show examples of different workflows from nucleic acid purification through data analysis that will demonstrate the ease of use, flexibility and speed of system.
