Targeted Re-Sequencing Made Easy: Nimblegen Solution EZ Capture Probes Plus NCI-CGF Plate-based Processing Development

Nimblegen's solution-based sequence capture technology has the potential to decrease costs and increase efficiency for next generation targeted re-sequencing projects. Compared to PCR, solution-based sequence capture reduced processing time from one month down to one week and lowered costs. The CGF has successfully integrated Nimblegen's process with our plate-based library preparation process and increased our project turn-around from one month to one week. Through key process changes, we have overcome the throughput challenge and increased our capacity to manually process multiple 96-well plates. In turn, our improvements have decreased project turn-around time, allowed us to seamlessly integrate Nimblegen's solution-based sequence capture technology into the sample library preparation process and moved us one step closer to automating the challenging library preparation process. The combination of Nimblegen capture probes and plate-based processing has transformed our capability for providing next generation sequencing data. Funded by NCI Contract No. HHSN261200800001E
