A 50-year-old female (case 3) sustained L1 burst fracture in a motor vehicle accident. a Pre-operative radiograph showed 29° local kyphosis and 66% anterior body collapse. b Post-operative radiograph revealed that surgery corrected the deformity to 2° local kyphosis and 18% anterior body height collapse. c Radiograph taken 2 years after surgery showing L1 body united with T12-L1 disc degeneration change. Local kyphosis deteriorated to 9° and anterior body height collapse had increased to 23%
