This article presents new and potentially very important information in that waist girth‐abdominal adipose tissue is clearly shown to be associated with patellar tendon pathology in men. Interestingly, release of fatty acids and different cytokines has been shown to be related to metabolic disorders like diabetes and heart diseases. These new findings raise questions about the role of metabolic abnormalities in tendon pathology. There is a need for more studies in this field.
