The background to the good clinical effects of eccentric training on chronic midportion Achilles tendinosis is not clearly understood. This short report demonstrates the beneficial effects of eccentric training on microcirculation. The results of this study will most likely help to better understand the mechanisms behind the good effects on pain and tendon structure that have been previously demonstrated using this type of treatment model.
