Edmund Mervyn Rosser

After national service in Korea, Edmund Mervyn Rosser (“Mervyn”) joined a general practice in Bermondsey in 1956 and remained there until his retirement in 1992. He was active in his local BMA division and was awarded the fellowship of the BMA in 1982. Mervyn became a Christian in his mid-20s and was a member of Westminster Chapel for over 55 years. An international hurdler while at Barts and in the army, he was subsequently a keen tennis player and ski-bobber.

Mervyn leaves a wife, Hilary; two children; and two grandchildren.


Former general practitioner Bermondsey, London (b 1926; q St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, 1952; MRCGP), died from a pulmonary embolism on 15 April 2007.
