Stephen worked at Guy's after qualifying and completed his vocational training for general practice in Plymouth. He moved on to practise in St Austell in 1983 and was later approved as a general practice trainer, becoming a valued member of the vocational training scheme in the county and taking justified pride in the progress of the succession of doctors under his guidance. Stephen was a committed Christian and a keen member of many societies. He is survived by his wife, Dorianne; two daughters; and his father, himself a retired general practitioner.
