Volume 25, no. 14, p. 6112-6122, 2005. Page 6114, column 1, lines 44-47 should read as follows. “As a control, the αVBS peptide was treated with papain and shown not to be a substrate of this protease. Furthermore, the αVBS peptide did not affect self-cleavage of papain.”
Page 6118, Fig. 4, top right panel: Lanes 1, 3, and 5 were inadvertently erroneous. The αVBS peptide was not always detectable with the silver stain that was used to produce this figure, which resulted in wrong images for these lanes. This error does not affect the results or conclusions of the study.
