Sri Lanka after the tsunami

Saruban Pasu's account of events in Sri Lanka after the tsunami (April 2005 JRSM1) has several inaccuracies. The town of Ampara was not affected since it is more than 25 km from the sea; the shoreline of Ampara district was affected but not the town. The help people received was from Special Task Force, JVP (cadre-based political party in the government) and Buddhist priests. The LTTE (a banned terrorist organization in the USA, UK and India) and TRO (an LTTE front organization) were not active. The second author, consultant physician from the general hospital Badulla (an adjacent district of Ampara), was personally involved in relief work in the Ampara and Batticloa districts.
